Frank and Fearless

THE MANDARIN'S NATIONAL PUBLIC SECTOR SURVEY

In 2024, more than 1,800 people responded to our Frank and Fearless survey, which covered many of the key issues facing the public sector across Australia.

We're bringing it back this year, and again we need your help.

For over a decade, The Mandarin has been dedicated to Australia’s public sector.

To better understand the issues and challenges public servants face every day, we first conducted this independent and wide-ranging survey in 2024. It was pleasing to see how honest and thoughtful your responses were.

We hope you enjoy exploring last year's findings in this interactive presentation and look forward to seeing what you think this year.

Overview

Who answered the survey in 2024?

Please note: There was a small percentage of those who were looking to work in the public sector, or had never worked in the public sector. Those results have been omitted from these breakdowns to only show the sample of public sector workers.
